If you attended any of my book club or speaking events in 2019, you may have heard me mention that I was working on a different kind of book. A fable that might help people going through hard times. Well, I’m proud to officially announce that my inspirational novel, THE GOLFER’S CAROL, will be published by G.P. Putnam’s Sons for release in the Fall of 2020. The story follows “one down-and-out husband, father, and golfer whose life is changed by a series of inspirational visits from his best friend and golfing idols.” As many of you know, during 2016 and 2017, my dad and wife, Dixie, both were treated for cancer. Dad’s prognosis was poor and he lost his battle. A month after Dad’s death, Dixie had curative surgery and she is now almost three years cancer free. Writing THE GOLFER’S CAROL allowed me to mourn my father, celebrate my courageous bride and share the feelings and lessons I experienced during this difficult time. It also gave me a vehicle to turn Dad’s last golf dream into a story of redemption that I pray will give hope to all who read it.
