So glad you enjoyed the story! I just finished reading “THE PROFESSOR”. It’s the best legal-thriller novel I’ve read in years. Move over John Grisham. Robert Bailey is on your heels. He is a superb author of legal thrillers. Be sure to visit Amazon.com & purchase his books. Thank you, Sharo! I’m so glad you enjoyed the story and I appreciate the note. ! I fell in love with all of them. It’s the kind of series one hates to see end. So sorry you lost your dad. My husband just passed and I hurt more for my son than for myself. They were very close. Reading The Fiinal Reckoning. Please keep writing your books. Do you have more planned? Love this about Randy!!! Photos are great!!!❤️ I just finished The Final Reckoning ( I read the first two books ) and I sobbed at the end. I could feel your personnel attachment to Tom. Your characters are so real and I felt sad that now that Tom has died I will no longer get to read about them. I look forward to your new novel and trust there will be another “Tom” to love. Thank you, Nancy! I’m so glad you enjoyed the story and appreciate the kind words. My next book, THE GENERAL, comes out in April 2020. i read all four one after the other. great work. rich complicated engaging ill look for the general. i could feel how much you want to be a really good writer and you are Thank you, Debra! I appreciate the note and am so glad you enjoyed the stories. Book 5 (tentative title is The General but that could change) is due out in April 2020. Mr. Bailey: Thank you sir for The Professor and the rest of the characters you created. As a former sportscaster with a love for reading and for movies I only hope you will protect your story and when they make a movie as someone surely will I hope you retain the rights to ensure they get it right. You mentioned that Tom McMurtrie was inspired by your dad. You did your dad proud by making such a memorable character. In fact I thought your character development is your strength as a writer. I believed all of the characters in the series. I had the privilege of getting to interview Gene Stallings when I used to be a journalist. It’s his face, his strength, his character that I always thought of while reading these books. These books came into my life right when I needed them. Thank you again for the entertainment and the inspiration. Good luck and God bless in your next endeavor. Thank you, Shane. I’m so glad you enjoyed the stories and I appreciate the note. Thank you for the kind words about my father and my writing. When I was a kid, Dad used to tell me stories about Coach Bryant and one of his favorite coaches of the Tide was Gene Stallings. Coach Stallings’ deliberate demeanor and strong presence was certainly an influence on my writing. Thank you again for your note, and I’m sorry for the delay in responding. I have loved all of your books but my favorite remains The Professor! I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL and grew up with Alabama football. I just finished The Final Reckoning and so sad that the series is finished. I am so sorry for your loss of your father. Your love and respect for him is reflected in your books. Hope to continues to enjoy your books. Looking forward to The General. Estes Smith Thank you, Estes. I really appreciate the note and am so glad you have enjoyed my stories. I appreciate the words about my father. My fifth book (tentative title is The General but that could change) is due out in April 2020. Thanks again! First let me say how much I loved The Final Reckoning. Some years back I bought my mom a kindle and loaded books on for her. Since I love legal thrillers, she got to read them as well. When I first read The Professor I made her stop what she was reading and start that book. From then on she badgered me for your next book. As they came out she read and them and we discussed them. Together we looked forward to your next installment. Two weeks ago my mom passed away at the age of 99. She died before she had a chance to read The Final Reckoning. She would have loved it! She would have yelled that it was “too heavy” which was her way of saying too much violence, but I always answered that it couldn’t be too heavy since it was in her kindle – and we would laugh. I thank you for your wonderful stories and for giving my mom such enjoyment in her remaining years. Thank you, Ronnie. I’m so glad that you and your mother enjoyed my stories. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. I apologize for not responding to your note sooner. It makes me feel good that my stories were able to give your mom enjoyment. I hope you will check out my new series (first book comes out in April 2020) which will have some familiar characters. Thanks again for your kind words. I agree with all the previous comments! I’m an avid reader and you would not believe how many books I read and listen to (MP3 player) and I recently found yours. I devoured all four McMurtrie & Drake books in one month. In the last book, The Reckoning, you indicated you are “hard at work” on your new series and I can’t wait. I’m glad you followed your father’s advice that you write books. You are a fabulous writer that brings us so intimately close to your characters that it is hard not to get emotionally involved…they are just stories after all!! 🙂 Thank you, Linda! I appreciate the kind words and am so glad you enjoyed the stories. I just finished the first draft of book 5, which will begin a new spinoff series involving some of the same characters. That book will be published in April 2020. Thanks again for your note! I hope you had a great fourth of July! My husband and I picked up The Professor while we were in Rosemary Beach just last week. We both enjoyed the story and your writing style so much that we picked up the other 2 books and bought a set for my husband’s father! It was nice meeting you that morning while signing the books and imagining you writing some of those lines. Especially the line when Jack wants to make certain Willistone Trucking hires the BEST attorney. That line or paragraph is priceless! Thank you, Amy! I enjoyed meeting you guys too. Love Rosemary Beach! So glad you have enjoyed the stories and some of the lines–ha! My next book comes out in April 2020. I drive a lot and have listened to the entire series. Loved them! Being a southern boy myself, i appreciate that the books are set in the south. I am definitely not a Bama fan – Go Tigers – but I like the football references and the connection between the characters. Can’t wait to read (or listen to) The General! She is quite a lady! Also, the reader does a great job of differentiating the characters’ voices – it makes it much easier to connect with them. Thank you, Tim! So glad you enjoyed the stories and the southern setting. I appreciate the note. I thoroughly enjoyed all of your books (even though I had to wait for the Final Reckoning and could barely wait)! I am a fan of legal thrillers and think you are right up there with Grisham etc. Please accept my condolences about your father, and happiness that your wife survived lung cancer. Keep writing! I’ll be reading! Thank you, Meg! I’m so glad you have enjoyed the stories. I appreciate the kind words about my dad and wife. My next book comes out in April 2020. Thanks again!! Love your books, my Dad was a great story teller and also died from lung cancer six months from the diagnosis. I still think about how he lived and died with dignity.Keep those stories coming your Dad was right Thank you, Laura. I”m so sorry about your father. I appreciate your note very much.
