On Saturday, April 19, 2014, The Professor book tour stopped in Tuscaloosa for a fantastic signing just prior to the start of the A-Day game. The Locker Room clothing store on University Drive hosted the event, and Barnes & Noble Tuscaloosa provided the books. All total, we sold 27 copies of The Professor on an absolutely perfect Spring day in Tuscaloosa.

Special thanks go to Alex Gatewood, the owner of The Locker Room, who graciously provided us a prime spot in front of his store. The Locker Room has been selling high quality clothes on the Strip in Tuscaloosa for almost fifty years, and always has a huge crowd on Game Day. Alex, together with longtime employee Tom Hammond, sent a steady stream of folks out of the store to our table, telling them they had to check out my book. Also, the day could not have happened without the help of my good friend Bill Fowler, who scheduled the event with Alex back in March, arranged for all the materials we would need for the signing, and then drove down to the game with me at the crack of dawn for set up. Finally, a big shout out to Rosie with Barnes & Noble Tuscaloosa, who helped promote the event on Facebook and took care of all the sales during the event.

We had a number of special guests, starting with my Mom and Dad, who drove down with my wife Dixie and our three kids. Also joining us were Bill Fowler’s wife, Melanie, and their three kids along with Bill’s wonderful mom, Janice. Finally, it was very special to see a number of former Alabama football players stop by, including Clyde Butler, who played on Coach Bryant’s 1966 team, Chris Anderson, a Huntsville High School legend and tailback on the 1992 national champions at Alabama and Brandon Gibson, wide receiver on the 2011 national champions.

As with all the signings, it was a joy meeting new people, and we met a number of interesting folks, including Vickie Green from Miramar Beach, Florida and Ashley Jones from Hoover, Alabama. All in all, it was another fantastic day for The Professor.

Really enjoyed the book!
Thank you!
Absolutely and unequivocally an excellent book. Thank you so much Mr Bailey, for writing it!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the story.
As a paralegal for 20 years I have seen many arrogant & slimy attorneys just like your Mr. Jameson Tyler. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for that verdict! Sir, this book us right on par with John Grisham. Can’t wait to read the next.
Thanks, Donna! My next book, Between Black and White, comes out late January 2015. It will be the second in this series, taking Tom and Rick to Pulaski, TN to help out an old friend…I appreciate your comment!
Mr. Bailey, I’m Clyde Butler’s wife, Cindy. Clyde was blown away by your book…. He is not as avid a reader as I am and it’s usually WEB Griffin that he reads…. Never read Grisham. I finally picked the book yesterday and did not put it down til I finished it last night…. Skipped a cocktail party to finish. Adored every word, character, plot, twists and turn. Never written a book review, so please excuse my lousy writing technique. I have read most all Grishams and love them, but your writing is even better….. You writing is not as lengthy with descriptions 0, which I love… It moved quickly. Please write a sequel and quickly!!! My only regret up is now I have already read it and am craving more…. TODAY!!! Could you possibly speak to Scottsboro rotary in June? Clyde has to get a speaker and YOU ARE Perfect. Please contact one of us…. cindybutler@scottsboro.org., whether you are can speak or not. You are an incredible author!!!! I hate I missed a day, but want to know where and when you will be signing again. We are Locker Room junkies, you know our history with Clyde playing ( thanks for the mention), but that familiarity is only icing on the cake to your book…… Just sensational. Ordering copies on Amazon today as gifts…. Would by dare loan out Clyde’s signed copy!! Never written a fan letter to anyone…. UntiL NOW!!! Have about 8 attorneys on the family ( all in B’ham) and can’t wait to get them a copy. Thank you, thank you, than you! Your new biggest fan, Cindy
Thanks so much, Cindy! So glad you and Clyde enjoyed the story. I will shoot you an email about Rotary. Thanks, again!
